Program Framework
Mentees lead the pace. The mentee is responsible for initiating contact, and following up. This is intentional — leadership starts here. This is new to our students, mentors are expected to assist with engagement as this is a new learning curve.
We support, not carry. GAWI provides structure, themes, and check-ins — but the relationship belongs to you. The program scaffolds; it doesn't do the work for you.
Consistency builds character. Showing up every month — especially when it's inconvenient — is where real growth happens. Contact week is non-negotiable.
Real conversations over performance. The monthly themes give you something to talk about — but honest, real exchanges about wins, challenges, and goals matter far more than a perfect agenda.
Our Process
Connect with Purpose
Monthly contact weeks
The first full Monday–Friday of every month is dedicated contact week. Mentors and mentees are expected to connect during this window every month.
Collaborate Openly
Bi-monthly group check-ins
Every other month, all pairs join a 90-minute virtual Zoom session — 6:00–7:30 PM PT — with facilitated breakout groups. Come prepared with a win and a challenge.
Plan with Purpose
Monthly activity themes
Each month has a suggested focus — from goal planning and vision statements to networking events and LinkedIn revision. The theme is a starting point for your conversations.
Ownership with Purpose
Monthly feedback required
All participants complete a brief monthly feedback form. Your responses help GAWI improve the program and ensure every pair is supported.
